A script to point Internet Explorer users in the right direction

Status: v1.2

Licence: GPLv3

Description:
Detects IE and provides a simple and customizable notice telling the user that you're not supporting their non-standards compliant browser.

Rationale:
I've had it with IE. Seriously, enough is enough. I'm done hacking around trying to get sites working in an excuse for a web browser.

I'm sure you know the feeling. You write standards compliant XHTML by hand in your favourite text editor, checking it with W3C's markup validator as you go, and develop the site in Firefox using Web Developer and Firebug. When you're finished, you fire up IE to test it and... it's a pile of crap. You spend half as much time again fixing up your divs, hacking in IE-only style sheets, tricking it into rendering transparent images correctly...

If everyone stuck to the W3C standards, people would stop using IE or Microsoft would fix it. I'm done supporting it. Screw backwards compatibility, screw 3 rendering modes and 3 incredibly different browser versions; write standards compliant code and tell users that you're not pandering to their non-standards compliant browser any more.
